“Really impressive, pure and expressive”

“Although her three-octave pitch range and skillful variation of scats are overwhelming as ever, dignified quietness is added to this time”

The "Improvisations from the Capri Winter" occupy a special place in Rainer Maria Rilke's lyrical work. Although they were written in Capri in 1906 and 1907, these verses do not foreshadow the "Ding-Gedichte" that Rilke would write shortly thereafter. Rather, they attempt to make the meaning of what is said tangible through the sound of the spoken word. No special preparation is necessary, only intuition and emotion. This is precisely why these poems are a gift for an improvisational artist like Tamara Lukasheva. The singer and pianist, born in Odessa in 1988 and now living in Cologne, often seeks to use her voice to delve into things and grasp their original meaning. Their singing is a mediator and medium at the same time. In the process, Tamara Lukasheva's personality takes a back seat, allowing the timbre of her voice to reveal the essence and fundamental nature of Rilke's verses — pure, clean, and genuine.
